A Fresh Bale

All of the adult sheep are away from home, spending the first half of winter in the slightly milder fields near the coast.

The arrival of a fresh bale of silage brings much excitement.

Like children on Christmas morning, they can't wait for their present to be unwrapped.

Norman, one of the rams.

Only the brave sheep ventured towards the bale this time - Dad is the one who feeds them every day so the girl with the camera was something unusual.

But hunger brought them to the bale.

Some ewes plucking up the courage to approach.

Yummy silage.

A storm brewing out at sea brought the seagulls inland.

After twenty minutes or so, they became used to my presence...

...and got stuck in.

Well fed sheep are happy sheep.
