This is Blue Belle.
She's a Mini Shetland Pony and she's mine. It just sort of happened. I've been dreaming of having a pony since I was five, and now I have one and I'm still in shock. I didn't exactly say to my Dad, "Daddy, I want a pony" - but it was pretty close. It doesn't help that he doesn't like horses. I had to put forward a strong case for a pony and unlike the last fifteen years, not take no for an answer. I'm very glad I did.
Isn't she pretty?
I just like sitting in the field and watching her.
Even though I've read many pony care books from the library over the years, it's still a learning curve putting all that theory into practice. This is the first (and hopefully last) time Blue Belle has moved homes, and she's never really met strangers like me either. So to help her relax I brought Suckie down to live with her. Suckie was wary of the giant sheep that kept stealing her food at first, but since I've taken these pictures, Suckie has reasserted her authority and nudges Blue Belle away from the bucket.
Welcome to the family, Blue Belle.
