Karen's Challenge

On Monday, Karen set me a challenge:
I like the through the ear perspective. Here's a little challenge for you:) Take one with the landscape in focus and the ears out of focus, and see which one you like best:)
I was more than happy to accept - and here's the result:

It's just a shame that the weather wasn't as good (we haven't had as good a day since). I still prefer the first one because of the brighter colours.

The photo above was just a good luck shot. I wasn't planning on getting it, but Pip just looked at the right place at the right time.

Her ears can go in all directions.

Sweet as Sue

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Greenhill Farm had a very small and fluffy visitor.

This is Sue, a 4-year-old Bichon Frise.

She has a sore paw at the moment, so she spent most of the time in the house.

I hope your paw's better soon, Sue!

Ben's come up with a really exciting new game...

I think he's being a sheep...

Landscape Photography

The other day, while walking Pip, I noticed that our usual view from the top field was looking pretty spectacular. This was a chance to practise my landscape photography.

I'm not the best landscape photographer - I need to have a dog in the photo!

Or part of the dog...

But eventually, I stopped putting the dog in the photo, and went it alone.

I love that view.

The sheep don't seem to mind though.

They'd rather eat and sleep the day away.

Happy Easter!

It's Easter Sunday! Time to eat all of that chocolate!

But the dogs can't, which is kind of sad.

Never mind! Photoshoot time!

I started with Ben and a chick.

Then I introduced a rabbit.

They became good friends.

Next were some sheep. He kept them under control!

As you can see, the sky was very blue!

Next up to the bale was Pip.

Dribble above! Look out!

Her and the sheep are both very interested in something...

"Ha ha ha! Silly chick!"

It was Sheila's turn last.

So from all of us,
Happy Easter!

She's Under Control

This time I remembered to bring my extendable lead.

This is my old pal "Flippy", the extendable lead. It's about 10 years old now and has stood the test of time.

I used to have another one too, but it got broken. Sheila's wearing it here in 2006:

It was younger that Flippy, but didn't last as long either.

Ben wore Flippy on his first trip out and a lot of his other early trips:

I remember taking a younger Fly for walks using Flippy. She's wearing it here:

And that photo's from 2001, so I have proof that Flippy's 10-years-old.

But back to the main event. Flippy's job for today was to hold Pip back from the sheep.

And it worked. Pip decided to stay with me.

"Hi there!"

At first the sheep couldn't understand why the dog wasn't chasing them.

But just to be on the safe side, they decided to run for their lives anyway.

Such is Pip's reputation.

Because the lead was on, Pip spent most of her time looking up at me.

(The black splodge on her front leg is a splodge of grease, she sort of tried stepping over a greasy trailer hitch. And it went wrong).

Pip's under control!
