The Late But Great Red Arrows

This weekend was Newcastle's Festival of Flight, celebrating Harry Ferguson's daring first flight there. There were concerts, events and more, and they had the Red Arrows coming over for display on the Saturday. From our vantage point in the fields, we waited and watched for them. Pip was so excited, it was almost as if she had had too much caffeine...

Dad and Granny were in the front of the Land Rover, and Pip and myself were in the back.

The Red Arrows were due to begin at 1:30pm (sharp, may I add). But they didn't make an appearance until 2:20. So between times, I took photos of Pip.

Eventually though, they made an appearance, and put on an excellent show.

And twice during the show, even though we were quite far away, a plane flew around and over us, which was quite frankly amazing!

And they made a very cool heart as well.

Pip was totally unfazed by the whole thing and was more than happy to run around the field getting muddy!

And we have an announcement! I've started using my long-neglected Twitter account to post updates and pictures, so please pop by.

Thanks.

Looks like the perfect day for it, and sounds like you were able to view it from your own farm.
